Yo its your boy MxOner with todays weekly "whats up update". I was talking to an old school tech head
who is a beta tester for Microsoft. He has let me know some inside things that Microsoft is developing. He told me that Microsoft
is developing a new hand held system that will be unleashed by christmas. Its first game will be Halo Wars. Thats right you
are reading correct Microsoft will unleash a hand held system by christmas. If you dont believe me go check it out on some
web sites for your self. Thats all the old school tech had time to tell me about be I will keep you posted if I hear anything
else.
Jan 12
Yo its your boy MxOner with this weeks weekly "whats up update". This in for this week ive been told
by bungie that soldiers in Iraq are allowed to test Halo 3. I guess the military isn't that bad after all. Even thou. Halo
3 has been in development for a year already its still going to be worth the wait. After making themselves look like fools
with their first, highly over zealous deal for the rights to Halo, Microsoft seems to have backed down a bit and as a result
has found a potential partner in making this a possible reality...
Originally, Microsoft was seeking $10 million dollars upfront, with an added 15% of the initial gross at the box office
when the film finally hits theatres. This deal is extremely unheard of in Hollywood, and many big production companies didn't
want anything to do with it. Word has it though, that the Redmond giant quickly backpeddled, and eventually was made an offer
of $5 million plus 10% of the gross by a combined pitch from both Universal Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox.
A formal announcement is expected sometime next week after the new business parties have a chance to work on some of the
details of the film.
Microsoft has been nothing but unorthodox with the rights for this potential blockbuster franchise. Where the normal procedure
is for film studios to recognize the potential of a gaming property and purchase the rights, in this case Microsoft has tried
to maintain as much control of the film as they possibly can, even going so far as to hire their own writer to write the script.
With the Halo game franchise being an absolutely huge earner for Microsoft's XBox console, they are sure to be watching
this production very closely. Halo has already generated more than $600 million dollars in revenue for Microsoft, and one
things for sure, this movie is going to greatly add to that. Thats right, even though the game won't come out for a good
while, Im still psyched about it. They're taking one of the most successful first-person shooters and turning it into a real-time
strategy game. While this can be construed as just sucking money from a franchise, I think it will be a game well worth the
money. I mean, cmon, just look at the trailer on the official page!!
Speaking of the official page, I quote:
Q: What is Halo Wars?
A: Halo Wars is the next big real-time strategy game from Ensemble Studios, creators of Age of Empires. Designed exclusively
for the Xbox 360, & Halo Wars allows you to take charge of the human UNSC armies and see the Halo universe from a totally
new perspective.
Q: Why is Halo being made into an RTS game?
A: Warthogs are cool. Scorpions are cool. Controlling lots of Warthogs and Scorpions and sending them into battle is really,
really cool.
We've been big fans of Halo for years at Ensemble Studios, and when we sat down to discuss our next project we thought
Halo would be absolutely perfect as an RTS on the Xbox 360.
While some parts of me scream, rock awesome!!! Other, more rational parts are debating the practicality of having an RTS
on a console such as the 360. I'm not doubting it's graphical prowess have you downloaded that trailer yet? I've told you
to once, and I'm telling you again. Though it may look fancy, will it handle like those PC-based RTSs we're all used to? Instead
of a mouse and keyboard you have a controller. Other RTS games for console systems were plagued with problems and received
terrible reviews. However, let's examine another quote
Q: Other RTS games that have transitioned to console have had issues with controls, how will Halo Wars improve on the
formula?
A: Halo Warswas created for the Xbox 360 from the ground up, which meant we didn't have to make compromises or shoe-horn
in artifacts from a Windows PC game. We were able to take all the best aspects of RTS games, make them work perfectly on the
Xbox 360, and exclude the rest.
Hmm, bold claims, but if anyone can do it, it's Ensemble Studios.
The gaming community knows Halo in and out or do they? I would say that the majority of those on Xbox Live sniping, fragging,
sticking, and slicing their foes into oblivion have neglected a major part of the Halo story: the novels. The three books,
The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and, First Strike provide essential details for the Halo fan. If you recall, I mentioned them
in a previous review.
It looks like Halo Wars won't neglect the books either:
Q: Where does Halo Wars take place in the Halo timeline?
A:Halo Wars takes place before Halo 1 during the UNSC's first deadly encounters with the Covenant.
In all probability, that means the game will incorporate many elements from The Fall of Reach - or maybe even parallel
the book. All this certainly makes me happy!
Have you downloaded the trailer yet? Seriously, if you know anything about Halo you need to watch it. If you have dial-up
I'm so, so sorry. There should be a minimum bandwidth like there's a minimum wage. You just can't browse the Internet properly
with a 56k modem. Go see if you can leech someone's unsecured wireless network around you
Anyways, where was I? There's not that much to talk about yet, but it looks like it's going to be a phenomenal game. Skeptics
will likely give it a hard time a major objection they have to the game is that Bungie sent a Cease and Desist letter to a
mod team working on a Halo total conversion for Command and Conquer: Generals. Apparently, the people involved in this independent
project had invested a considerable amount of time into the mod only to discover that it was a little too close to what Bungie
had in mind.
Well, that's all the time we got for this issue of the weekly "whats up update" keep posted to make sure you
get all of your Halo news
Jan 9, 2006
Yo its your boy Mxoner with this weeks weekly "whats up update". This week their has been offical news

last minute changes to the contract that the deal was canceled and both companies said that they will try to work on the details

some new news
Dec 21, 2006
Yo whats up its your boy MxOner with this
weeks weekly what up update. Whats new Mircosoft sells rights to halo to Sony. Thats right Microsoft said they did this because
it would be the only way to gain the rights to GTA as well. You can start to expect to see halo on PS3 after Halo 3 and
Halo wars drops on Xbox 360. The Halo movie has been started and on the way to be filmed. Their has been no offical word
from Mircosoft on the sale of the right to Sony yet but you can expect to see them sometime durring the christmas week. Also
for the Halo movie Microsoft has signed a deal with both Universal and Twentieth Century Fox that will allow them to make
a movie based on Microsoft's popular video game, "Halo". The studios paid Microsoft US$5 million for the rights. Microsoft
will also get a cut of box office ticket sales generated by the film. The deal ends months of speculation. Microsoft brought
the "Halo" film idea to Hollywood last spring, with messengers in costume delivering scripts to studios. Universal will take
over the domestic distribution and the film's production, while Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the film overseas. They're
aiming to release the film in the summer of 2007. It seems that Mircosoft is claiming that the halo triolgy is getting old
and time to sell it to other smaller companies. Well thats all the new i've heard for this week so be sure to keep your eyes
open for more halo news next week.

The Halo movie. Microsoft have released some new info on Halo 3. Halo 3 is supposed to try and challenge PS3 for sales. Microsoft
hopes to take at least 3 million PS3 users away from the consuel and move toward Xbox 360. There have been updates from
Halo 3 such as the three different types of special disc such as: The Regular Edition, Director Edition, Legendary Edition.
For Halo Wars a new release date has been put on it so you can expect it no later then June. For the Halo movie there has
been some progress with it because Microsoft has agreed to discuss cost for the project again and have found new people to
take their place in case something goes wrong. Well thats it for this week be sure to tune in next week
Nov 28, 2006
Yo whats good its your boy MxOner wit this weeks
update. For recent news for halo the movie we fount this exerpt from bungie.net:
A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to partner with two tremendous Producers from
Universal, Mary Parent and Scott Stuber. In the short time they’ve been on board, Mary and Scott have joined with Peter Schlessel to accomplish unimaginably wonderful things. Example? They’ve secured an Executive
Producer to help guarantee the creative integrity and technical excellence of the Halo film.
And that Executive Producer’s name is Peter Jackson.
I’ll give you a second to process. If you’re having a strong, emotional
reaction, don’t panic. When I heard the news it took me the better part of a day just to stop smiling.
Yes. The Peter Jackson, Executive Producing the Halo film.
Needless to say I and the rest of Bungie are positively incontinent (Marty especially).
But what really knocks us on our asses is we’re also getting the combined talent of the mighty men and women of WETA in the bargain. From fabricating Covenant weapons to building life-sized Forerunner
structures to accomplishing shot after shot of complex live-action/CG integration – simply put, there’s no group
of people we’d rather have realize the Halo universe on screen.
Indeed, I don’t think there’s another group that even could.
Mary and Scott know Peter Jackson and his partner Fran Walsh because of their work on King Kong (which Universal is distributing), so I asked them
for their personal take on this development:
"First, let me just say how honored and excited Scott and I are to be involved in
this project. As huge fans of the game ourselves we know how high the bar is. We've made it our mission to try and involve
the absolute very best people one can imagine in every capacity. Having developed a great relationship with Peter and
Fran through the extraordinary Kong experience, and seeing first hand just how unique a filmmaking environment they have crafted,
we approached them about the possibility of coming aboard to Exec Produce. Not surprisingly, they were already avid fans of
the game, and given our existing shorthand, they said yes! To be able to continue our relationship with them – on HALO
of all projects – is really a dream come true for us in the biggest possible way.”
I daresay me too. And did I mention that Mary and Scott are awesome?
Not surprisingly I’ve begun apartment hunting in Wellington – though
Chris Butcher says I can bunk with his grandmother in Christchurch so long I don’t mind a bit of a commute…
I’m only half joking. Parsons and I are hopping on a plane to New Zealand
next week to meet Mr. Jackson and his team, and I imagine it won’t be the last time we make the trip.
In other news though Halo 3 title may be Forerunner. Well that it for this weeks
weekly whats up update tune in next week.
Nov 20, 2006
Yo its your boy MxOner
with this weeks update. There has been no real news about halo 3 or the halo movie so far this week. But give it a another
couple of days and you'll be seeing somethin new.
Nov 11, 2006
Yo this is your boy MxOner leading you into this week with the weekly updates. Currently in the Halo 3 world there are some
new rumors that have surfaced. According to the forum I was reading, it looks like Halo 3 will have an extremely well developed
multiplayer system, and the players will be able to confront bots in scenarios derived from the games storyline. Moreover,
Halo 3 will have multiplayer maps able to support up to 50 players. It also seems that Halo 3 is also preparing a more
interesting story than the previous titles did, and will contain more cinematic sequences. The post also mentions that
a map and movie editor are being prepared for Halo 3, that would allow the players to build their own maps and video sequences
which they could later on transmit through the Xbox Live system. Although the comment seems to be rather well documented,
and the details look like having been copied from the press release announcing the game, there is still no official confirmation
of the games existence and even the author of this post is not completely sure that the details are real or just a work stage.
Nov 8, 2006
Yo its your boy MxOner
with this weeks weekly what update. I've updated the "about us" page a little. I've made everyone in the clan a new page and
gave them a link so that you can click the link and learn more about that one person. I've also added on the "challenge us"
page a request form for a match of YOUR choice. Be sure to make the challenges intresting and hard unless you just want
to play us. Also just in new news about halo the movie. There are talking about the halo movie being delayed. Film
studios Fox and Universal pulled out last month, but the film-makers vowed to continue with the project. Now Microsoft says
it has "mutually agreed" to delay the film with Jackson and his co-producer Fran Walsh. "We are confident that the final feature
film will be well worth the wait," it said in a statement. The movie was due to be directed by first-time feature film-maker
Neill Blomkamp. Jackson, who won a best director Oscar for Lord Of The Rings, was an executive producer on the movie, which
was scheduled for release in the summer 2008.
There also have been some rumors of rising cost. Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox dropped out as financial backers
in October. Rumours suggested the studios were concerned the budget could reach $200m, after an original projection of $135m.
The film-makers said the studios pulled out after they and Microsoft refused to reduce their deals on the project. Halo is
widely credited with making Microsoft's Xbox games console a success in the West.
Nov 6, 2006
Yo its your boy MxOner with the
weekly update for this week. I've gotten a hold of some news from another web site about news on halo 3. This web site had
new details about the game such as weapons, maps, twist in the game, competeion with GoW, graphics, and etc. Here is the news:
On plot twists “Halo
3 will contain more plot twists than any other game in the series” –Jaime Griesemer
On Gears Of War being
competition “We’ve played lots and lots of multiplayer and some singleplayer, and yeah, it’s really good.
But it’s also quite a bit different from what we’re doing. I realize that a lot of people are concerned that Halo
3 and GoW are going to compete for the same audience, but I think that when people get to play, they’ll realize how
different the games are. Gears is a much slower game where stragegy and cover plays a bigger part.” –Jaime Griesemer
On graphics “A lot is still missing in this build. Weather- and water effects are missing, and most
of our HDR isn’t in there yet. We’re still at alpha stage, but when everything is in place, Halo 3 will be the
best X360 has to offer.” –Brian Jarrard
“We definitely have another strategy than Epic Games when it comes to graphics. We’ll never engulf our
game environments in lots of details like that. GoW looks absolutely fantastic, but we want to avoid compromising Halo’s
unique visual style. That’s why we’re making a clean, sharp game as opposed to one with insane amount of details.”
–Brian Jarrard
“There are many ways to convey emotion. Graphics is not the most important one.” –Brian Jarrard
On multiplayer and bots “Multiplayer has always been important, but it’s developed in a different
way which makes it look bigger for every game. We have a base that we always build the MP part on, whereas the SP mode practically
has to be built ground-up every time. Xbox Live also made MP in Halo even more important.” –Brian Jarrard
“A lot of people ask us about bots. They think that the AI in Halo was pretty damn good, and would work well
in MP as well, but it’s really not that simple. The enemies in Halo are optimized for encountering the player in large
numbers. They would be a lot worse at abstract thought AI like ‘I have to defend my flag’ and so forth. In short,
to create bots for Halo would be an immense undertaking, and we rather put that time into making new levels, weapons and netcode.”
–Jaime Griesemer
New Weapons: *Spiker: The weapon of choice for brutes.
*Spartan Laser: An anti-veichle weapon, fires a red laser that pretty much destroys any veichle that is hit.
*Nail Grenade:The grenade of choice for the brutes, The grenade sticks to walls and emits nails into the air.
New Vehicle: *Moongoose: The ATV that was supposed to be in Halo 2. It carries 2 people and it doesn’t have
any weapons so it’s mainly a means of getting from point A to point B as fast as possible.”
New Features: *Your secondary weapon is visible on your back at all times.
*New transportation system in multiplayer that is called the man cannon. It launches you into the air through
air streams, you can still be fired at and you can fire back.
*The X-button will have a special use which Bungie will not reveal.
*No bots will be availible in Halo3.
*Bumper Buttons can be used to reload both weapon independantly.
The Three levels that LEVEL managed to play where Valhalla = Blood Gulch, High Ground = Zanzibar, Snowbound =
Frost Bite
Yo it's your boy MxOner with the weekly update. We just
added new pages called the Prophecy, Got an idea for us. These will be your main spots to give ideas and to see whats up with
the clan. The weekly update for this week will be Halo 3's title. There has been rumor that Halo 3 will be called Halo 3:
Forerunner. Were not to sure that this will be the title but just a rumor. Also new news is the Warthog. The Warthog
is now a super-deluxe killing machine. Not because they've changed the Hog itself very much, although graphically it’s
seen some significant upgrades, but rather because of how your AI buddies behave when you’re driving the thing. First
off, beeping the horn seems to bring any nearby Marine running (although they will come based on suitability for the task
at hand – more on that in a future update) and hopping straight into the gunner turret. In previous Halo games, the
gunners were smart and would pick off targets in a logical fashion, but this time around, and it could be my imagination,
the gunners are more precise and easier to influence. You can target individual bad guys by steering the Hog and even “convince”
your gunner to pick a more relevant target and have him stop trying to blast a lone grunt hiding behind a rock when a bigger
menace approaches. This has two effects on the gameplay – one is that it makes the Hog feel more like a weapon when
you’re driving, and the second is that it makes you want to cruise around bigger battle areas playing mop-up, whereas
previously the temptation might have been to get the heck out of dodge. And by heck, I mean hell. The AI still has ages of
tuning left to go, and the bad news is that if your AI gunner is too good, he’ll be dumbed-down to make the game more
balanced. That said, the scale and ferocity of the current encounters (read: more bad guys than ever before) mean that you
were going to need more capable AI anyway. Now, if only I could make my real human gunner in multiplayer shoot so accurately…
I’ve been playing around with the latest builds of multiplayer and single player (again, both are deployed separately
so that neither team is stepping on the other’s toes) and tooling around with a “controversial” new control
scheme. Basically it addresses some of the complaints 360 owners had about the button mapping – especially the black
and white buttons no longer found on the 360 – and makes for a more logical use of the left and right bumpers. There
are some other changes that are game-feature dependent that I can’t talk about yet, but basically the new scheme is
super solid. The problem of course, is that after two years of training with the old scheme, the slightest change caused me
to spaz out for about three minutes. Once I got used to it however, it’s far more natural and sensible, and the logical
use of the new controller. And before you start pitching angry mails about a control scheme you haven’t tried yet, don’t
worry – we’ll be including the classics too and perhaps even some improved or new control variants. We might even
take a look at the “backward” southpaw controls so that Claude will quit his -blam!-in’ and go back to stocking
shelves at the Leftorium. I think we’ll have something cool for everyone from your mom, to a hardcore, Dolbex-esque
tournament player.

Oct 4, 2006
Hey its SavageWookie with your first and lastest update. How can you tell who are the
real pros on xbox live for halo? People who always say that their "Pro's" but every you play them they lose to people
like me and my friends (moist towelt and premedhunter7).
Then they always say im/you are stand bying, those people arent
the real "Pro's". If you beat somebody by 1 point and both of you put up the best fight youve seen in a while that
means there the pros. Sportsmenship counts as a major part in this a well because if someone has a bad attitude about a match
that they lose then they'll never get any better in halo 2.
So how do you tell who are "Nub's" when
you are playing halo 2 look for these signs:
1. They almost get shot every 5 seconds.
2. They talk an alot of trash to you but your winning
by 10.
3. Your laging an alot and there service is perfect (stand bying).
4. There just plainly are bad and are good at being bad.
5. They run around the map losing a say you cheating by using a certain
weapon.
Thats it for today readers tune
in next time for the articles of savage wookie P.S we have a weekly challenge every week the challenge will be on the page
"Challenge Us".
